Twitch

When I started this blog, I made a promise to myself that I would never solicit donations or set up a Patreon. Even though this is more of a research blog than a theology blog, I’m still weary of the intersection of money and religion, especially after writing a three-part series on Joseph Smith’s abuse of power in pursuit of financial gain.

That said, if you are interested in supporting this blog and helping offset the costs and time involved with it (and there are some books I’d like to get to help with the research), there is something you can do. If you have an Amazon Prime account, once every 30 days you can claim a free $5.99 Twitch.tv gift subscription to give to your favorite streamer. It’s a perk of your Prime account and only costs a couple minutes of your time. And I promise I will never start a church.

If you are interested, here are the steps:

  1. Set up a Twitch.tv account.  Amazon owns Twitch, so it’s safe.
  2. Go to www.amazon.gaming.com and sign in.
  3. Navigate to the account drop down menu at the top left and select “Manage Twitch Account.”
  4. Link Amazon Gaming and Twitch.
  5. Claim your $5.99 gift sub once every 30 days.
  6. When I go live, come by the stream and select “Gift a Sub” below the video screen.
  7. You can subscribe to my channel (https://www.twitch.tv/mattlohrke) to get email notifications when I go live. You can only gift subs when I’m live. My first stream will be August 17, 2024.

I mostly play Destiny 2 and Borderlands 2 and 3 on PC. I play the Assassin’s Creed series off and on. I also play Red Dead Redemption 2, Days Gone, Cyberpunk 2077, Horizon Zero Dawn, and I’m thinking about starting up a new Elder Scrolls V playthrough (all on PC). If you play Destiny or Borderlands, I’d love to play with you. For the sake of consistency, I’ll plan on streaming every Saturday night from about 7-11 pacific time. So, please come by and say hello. I’d love to say hello to you.

Thank you, again, for taking the time to read this blog. I appreciate all of you and I hope it’s beneficial to you in some way.
